Start with the shortest or most delicate necklace closest to your neck, then add longer pieces underneath. We love mixing different pearl sizes, textures, and chain details for a more effortless look. Leaving a little space between each length also helps the layers sit naturally and reduces tangling.

Our pieces are made with genuine freshwater pearls, individually selected for their luster, shape, and character. Depending on the design, necklaces may also feature 925 sterling silver, 14K gold-plated finishes, or other carefully chosen jewelry components. Yes. Many Aware Pearl necklaces can be adjusted in length, finish, or other design details, and we also offer fully bespoke pieces. If you have something specific in mind, send us a message through our Bespoke page and we’ll let you know what’s possible.

When layering necklaces, choose slightly different lengths so each piece has its own space. After wearing, fasten each necklace and store it separately rather than letting several chains sit together. For pearl pieces, we also recommend laying them flat or keeping them in their pouch to protect both the pearls and the chain.

A pendant necklace has a focal detail suspended from the chain, such as a pearl, charm, or centerpiece. A chain necklace has a more continuous design without one dominant pendant. Pendant styles create a clear focal point, while chains are especially easy to wear alone or layer with other necklaces.

Pearls are naturally delicate, so we recommend removing your necklace before showering, swimming, exercising, or sleeping. Avoid direct contact with perfume, lotion, and household chemicals, and gently wipe the piece with the cleaning cloth included with your order after wear. Store it separately in a dry place to help protect the pearls and finish.

Standard, non-custom pieces can be returned within 30 days of delivery, provided they are unworn and returned in their original condition. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility, and a $3 handling fee is deducted from the refund. Custom, personalized, or specially adjusted pieces are not normally returnable unless they arrive damaged, defective, or not as described.

Please contact us as soon as possible with your order number and a few clear photos of the issue. If your necklace has arrived damaged, defective, or not as described, we’ll work with you to arrange an appropriate replacement or refund, with no return cost to you for a confirmed product issue.
